My emphasis--both while traveling and shooting locally--has been on photographing nature and things, not people. I am trying to change this by incorporating more portraiture into my shooting. Many of the shots contained in this gallery have been taken on trips to "third world" spots. One of the great things about traveling to such places is seeing how people there live on a day-to-day basis. It helps you to both appreciate what you have and to understand that what you have may not, ultimately, be the key to satisfaction and happiness. The shots that aren't travel-oriented--whether of a childhood friend or a musician in Central Park with his prop--reflect my effort to expand my skills as a photographer.
